Both are used to improve the colour and shape of teeth, but they are designed for different situations.
Zirconia crowns
A crown covers every surface of the tooth. On worn teeth, teeth with large fillings or teeth that have had root canal treatment, it protects the tooth while looking natural. Some enamel has to be removed from every surface.
Porcelain veneers
Veneers are thin porcelain shells bonded only to the front of the tooth. They suit healthy front teeth whose colour, shape or gaps you would like to change. Far less of the tooth is removed.
Which one suits you?
The choice is made at your examination, based on the health of your teeth, your bite and what you would like. In some cases the two are combined.
